Barbara L. Nardo

Barbara L. Nardo, 74, of Niles, passed away Tuesday June 4, 2019 at Shepherd of The Valley Lutheran Home in Niles surrounded by her loving family.

She was born July 6, 1944 in New Castle, PA. the daughter of Walter and Dorothy Mary Soland Bonk.

She was a 1962 graduate of Liberty High School and also a graduate of Lewis, Weinberger and Hill School of Cosmotology. Following her education, Barb went into business with her sister at Beverly’s Salon in Girard. She also was employed as a waitress and enjoyed the people she met.

Memories of Barb will be carried on by her husband Anthony Nardo whom she married January 22, 2000, two daughters, Tamy Geist and her husband Paul of Cortland and Shiela Albanese of Warren, a son Michael A. Albanese III of Niles, two sisters, Beverly Miketa of Liberty, and Lisa Bonk of Niles, a step-daughter Toni Bonanno and her son Justin Nardo, five grandchildren, Savannah Dockery and her husband James, Dana and Maria Dellimuti, Kayl and Kylie Geist, four great-grandchildren, Dakota , Donovan, and Delanie Albanese and Destiny Dockery, several nieces and nephews, and her dog Rai.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Jimmy Bonk, a sister Margaret “Peggy” Turas, a step-daughter Tina Creak, and her beloved dog Chi-Chi.

Friends may call from 4 to 7PM Thursday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles where The Mount Carmel Bereavement Ministry will conduct prayers at 6:30PM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Friday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Niles preceded by a 9:30AM prayer service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery.
