Beatrice “Bea” LeCursi, 94, of Niles, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 24th, 2022, one week after her 94th birthday. She passed in the care of her loving family. She was born on St. Patrick’s day 1928 to Nick and Mary Ciminero Ross. Called Patty by her father, brothers and sisters, she was known as Bea by her family and friends after the name her Mother gave her. Bea loved to work. She began cleaning houses at age 14 and was employed by Isaly’s dairy which inspired her lifelong love of food and restaurants. Fiercely dependable, intelligent and creative she spent her life cooking, sewing, crafting, cleaning, and working in offices. She also owned and operated her own business; Tri-State Medical Weight Loss. Bea retired from the office of Vernon’s Café in 2008 at age 80, shortly before the death of her husband of 48 years, Martin J. LeCursi. Bea and Marty shared a lifelong passion for creating things. He would build the house and she would make the home. The food at holidays and summer lamb roasts anchored the family. Mom made Pizza, pasta e Fagioli, lemon and coconut cream pie, apple sheet, pasta and meatballs. Pop rotisseried a whole lamb at Mosquito lake park and we picnicked then had a canoe ride. Christmas was special, with lots of laugh and even more food. Mom even wrote a cookbook at one point, to capture some of the many recipes she had made for her family, but the secret to her delicious pie crust was in her hands, not in the recipe. At the end of her life she lived with her son Pat and daughter in law Patty who took wonderful care of, and entertained her. Her daughter Anne comforted her, and her son Nick and daughter in law Jody fought for her. Her granddaughter Elly LeCursi (with whom she had shared so many secret giggles - they were so much alike) attended to, and worried over her, and her grandson Joey Revezzo protected her. She loved her husband Marty LeCursi (who preceded her in death), and her children Kathy (Ed) Budd, Jeannie (Bob) Molody, John Revezzo (who preceded her in death), Pat (Patty) Revezzo), Anne (Mike) Komiensky and Nick (Jody) LeCursi and her many grandchildren. Later in life Bea attended St Stephens church of Niles. The world has changed but the memories remain. We love you mom.
