Bernard A. Popovic

 Bernard "Bernie" Augustine Popovic, 85, of Warren died 4:26 am Monday November 28,2022 at Trumbull Regional Health Center in Warren.
 He was born on February 15, 1937 in North Braddock, PA, the son of John and Mary Yacubic Popovic.
Bernard was a 1955 graduate of Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh,and then went on to further his education at the University of Pittsburgh where he would ultimately receive his Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering in1965. 
He was employed as a chemical engineer at multiple companies including Westinghouse, Republic Steel, Sharon Steel and Olympic Steel before retiring in 2002.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Warren and enjoyed golfing, watching his grandson's soccer matches, crossword puzzles, and was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. Over the course of his life he coached his children and grandchildren at one time or another in various sports. Bernard was a United States Army veteran during the Vietnam War, stationed in Amsterdam. 
 He will be deeply missed by his wife Eleanor Bodner Popovic, whom he married August 29, 1959, his son Denis Popovic of Warren, three daughters Diane Popovic (John) of Michigan, Karin Popovic of Chicago,  Kathi Krok and her husband Michael of Niles, five grandchildren Nicholas Kutcher and his wife Karel, Eric Popovic, Andrew Kutcher, Kaleb Krok, and Tristin Popovic.
He is preceded in death by a brother Raymond Popovic and three sisters Margaret Noll, Minnie Plecenik and Gloria Plecenik.
  Friends may call from 5 to 7 PM Friday December 2, 2022 at the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 AM Saturday December 3, 2022 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Warren preceded by a 9:15 AM prayer service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park in Vienna.
