Carmen Anthony Spinella, 67, of Niles died Friday November 22nd at his residence.
Carmen was born on September 6, 1952 in Warren, the son of Anthony and Natalie Nardo Spinella.
Besides his family, friends and animals, Carmen loved music. He graduated from Youngstown State University with a Degree in Music. He furthered his education at Kent State University with a Master's Degree and later in the grad program at Cincinnati Conservatory of Music where he played clarinet as a performance major.
He worked at US Safety Gear in their accounts payable division for 20 years and was also a music teacher and dance instructor and assisted with the Ohio Star Ball.
Carmen was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles. He was a professional level knitter, and he made hats, gloves and scarves for deployed troops.
He will be deeply missed by his sister Giovanna Spinella and her husband H. Reed Phythyon of Virginia, nephew Anthony R. Phythyon, nieces Heather M Phythyon and her husband David H. Lindsay, Natalie Phythyon Knight and her husband Jessie J Knight, and two grandnephews Carter R. and Alan T. Lindsay, as well as the many animals he rescued and adopted, leaving behind Bosco, Cooper, and Ben.
Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Joseph Rossi & Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
Funeral services will be held 11am Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at St. Stephen cemetery.
