Catherine L. Killen

Catherine L. Killen, 95, of Niles, passed away on Monday January 24, 2022 at her residence.

She was born January 30, 1926 in Girard the daughter of Patrick and Lyda Barber Sabino.

She was a 1944 graduate of Girard High School and was employed as a bookkeeper/para-accountant at Packer Thomas and Company Accounting Firm for 29 years retiring in 1993.

She was a former member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Girard and current member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and fishing.

Her husband David E. Killen Sr. whom she married February 16, 1952 died December 21, 2000 and her son Patrick Killen died August 8, 2015.

She will be sadly missed by a son, David M. Killen Jr.(Lori) of Howland, seven grandchildren, Lisa Killen(Leonard Powers) of Warren, Michelle Wolman(Alan) of Pennsylvania, Aaron Killen( Aimey) of California, Carrie Killen(Robert Sierra) of California David J. Killen of California, Elliot Killen of Cleveland, Taylor Killen(Rachel) of Cleveland, and two great-grandchildren, Kayla Polan of Warren and Daven Sierra of California.

Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 7PM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles where The Mt. Carmel Bereavement Ministry will conduct prayers at 6:30PM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Wednesday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles preceded by a 9:30AM prayer service at the funeral home.

Facial coverings are mandatory for all family and friends coming to pay their respects for all services at the funeral home and at the church.

Burial will be in Girard City Cemetery.

The family wishes to give special thanks to Joanne Rosier for being a caring companion and caregiver and to Bill and Amy DeVore for being such great neighbors for 62 years.
