Dolores Jean “Tootsie” Ifft, 89, of Niles, passed away on Tuesday October 20, 2020.
She was born December 27, 1930 in Youngstown, the daughter of Daniel and Hazel Ingram Dominic.
Dolores was a 1950 graduate of Youngstown Ursuline High School where she was a majorette. She became a professional singer prior to getting married but gave up that career in order to raise her family. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, active in the church choir, and a church festival volunteer.
Her husband Joseph B. Ifft, whom she married January 7, 1955, died January 12, 2020.
She will be deeply missed by three sons, Daniel Ifft( Jill) of Dover, Joseph Ifft( Robin) of Niles, and Gary Ifft(Michelle) of Niles, a brother Donald Dominic(Marlene)of Austintown, eight grandchildren, Amber, Daniel, Christian, Joey, Alyson, Nicholas, Aimee, Gary Matthew, eight great-grandchildren, Decker, Quinn, Zara, Macie, Brooklyn, Logan, Jaxson, Wyatt, and a ninth due in December. She also leaves several nieces and nephews, and her good friend Kay Lucariello of Niles.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Ruth Ann Blakeman.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Monday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Niles where social distancing and facial coverings are mandatory.
Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
