Duane E. Lanham, 72, of Niles, passed away on Monday August 23, 2021 at his residence.
He was born February 21, 1949 in Warren the son of James Lanham and Ruth Ann Shelar Lanham Paul.
Duane was a 1967 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, attended Denison University, and graduated in 2001 from Youngstown State University with a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Management.
He was employed at Republic Steel-Severstal as general manager of Maintenance of the 56 inch hot mill retiring in 2011, member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles, past president of The Niles McKinley Frontliners, and cub scout master at Bonham Elementary School.
Duane enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was a United States Army Veteran of The Vietnam War.
He will be deeply missed by his wife Arlene Patrone Lanham whom he married November 14, 1970, two sons, Eric Lanham and his wife Chrissy of Niles and Jason Lanham and his wife Kelsey of Wadsworth, a brother Dirk Lanham of South Carolina, and five grandchildren, Joshua, Nathan, Ryan, Landon, and Lexis.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 7PM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles where The Mount Carmel Bereavement Ministry will conduct prayers at 6:30PM.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM Thursday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles, where Duane will be honored for his military services, preceded by a 10:30AM prayer service at the funeral home.
The family requests that family and friends coming to pay their respects either at the funeral home or at church to please wear a facial covering.
