Frances M. Shargo

Frances M. Shargo, 98, of Girard, passed away on Thursday December 31, 2020 at Mercy Health St. Joseph’s Warren Hospital.
She was born January 16, 1922 in Wellsville, Ohio the daughter of Frank and Lucy Cerroni Nance and raised by her step-father Michael Montemurro.
She was a 1939 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, employed at General Electric Lamp in Warren during World War II, and as a cafeteria worker for the Girard City School District for 12 years.
She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Girard and enjoyed cooking for her children.
Her husband Sam J. Shargo Sr. whom she married July 18, 1953 died March 30, 1980.
She will be sadly missed by two sons, Michael Shargo of Niles and Sam J. Shargo Jr. with whom she made her home, two sisters, Virginia Nance of Niles and Rosemary Gentile of Niles.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Guy Montemurro and Peter Nance.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Noon Tuesday at St. Rose Catholic Church in Girard with Msgr. John Zuraw officiating. Social distancing and facial coverings are mandatory.
Burial will be held in Girard City Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
