Giuseppe Corturillo

Giuseppe (Peppino) Corturillo of Niles, died peacefully at home on Friday July 29, 2022 surrounded by his two sons, daughter-in-law and granddaughters, following a brief illness. He was born May 6, 1938, in Gioiosa Marea, Sicily, Italy, the son of Ignazio and Angela Mollica Corturillo, and came to the United States in 1970 with his wife Maria (Mariuzza).
He was a retiree of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church after being employed there for 35 years. Joseph was a beloved husband, father and grandfather, and a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles. He enjoyed gardening and canning during the summer months, making wine in the fall, but most of all, he was a connoisseur of espresso coffee. 
He is reunited with his wife Maria Corturillo whom he married Feb. 20, 1970, who died on April 24, 1986.
Survivors include his caretaker and son, Michael Corturillo, of Niles, with whom he made his home, son Angelo Corturillo and his wife Kathleen, of Niles, his two precious granddaughters, Christina and Nina, and his two crazy dogs, Cookie and Benji. Also, mother-in-law Michelina Silvera Gumina, sister Carmela Natoli, sisters-in-law Maria Corturillo, Rita Mollica Bisci, Tindara Gumina all of Sicily, Josephine DeLuca of Niles, and many nieces, nephews, cousin of Sicily, Canada and United States. 
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Santa, Sara, Tindara and Maria, two brothers Phillip, Tino and father-in-law Nicola Gumina, brothers-in-law Vito, Giuseppe, Pepo, Rosario, Giuseppe, sister-in-law Nina Corturillo, nephews Pat Corturillo, Ignazio DeLuca and in laws Geno and Maria Hough. 
A special thank you to his buddy Jason, RN, from Southern Care Hospice, that has been taking care of dad for the last few years and all the wonderful staff for their kind and compassionate care. 
A private burial with be held at Pineview Memorial Park. 
Arrangements are being handled by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
