Irene Z. Poling, 97, of Niles died 2:59pm Monday November 30th of Covid-19 at Trumbull Regional Medical Center in Warren.
She was born December 8, 1922 in Pennsylvania the daughter of Albert and Elizabeth Nagy Zakany.
Irene was a graduate of North Bloomfield High School and was employed at Sears in customer service for many years.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Niles where she was involved in their altar guild and also received Congressional recognition for her devotion and loyalty to the church. Irene was a volunteer for Trumbull Mobile Meals up until the age of 90, and enjoyed reading, walking and puzzles.
Her husband Joseph E. Poling, whom she married June 28, 1946, died May 14, 1970.
She will be deeply missed by her two sons Joseph Poling and his wife Cindy of Niles, Stephen Poling of Warren, her daughter Mary Campana and her husband Dan of Warren, 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by three brothers Stephen, Ernest and Albert Zakany, five sisters Margaret Pachuk, Elizabeth Reszegi, Esther Nikkila, Julia Kotas, Dorothy Fannin, and a great grandson Jerry Cross.
Private services will take place at a later date.
Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
