Jan Elliot

 Jan Elliot, 79, of Niles passed away 12:10 AM Wednesday November 16, 2022 at Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home in Girard. 

She was born May 10, 1943 in Youngstown the daughter of James and Julia Skiffey Chiarmonte.

 Jan was a 1961 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and worked at Verizon customer service for over 20 years before retiring in 2009. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles where she was a festival worker, eucharistic minister and bereavement committee member. Jan also loved her card club group with friends she had since high school. She was an avid Cleveland Indians and Ohio State Buckeyes fan.  When she wasn't at her grandchildren's events, she could be found supporting her son Jon throughout his coaching career.  

She will be deeply missed by her two sons Jon Elliot Jr. and his wife Nikki of Howland, Michael Elliot and his wife Kim of Fishers, Indiana, her daughter Christine Russo and her husband Larry of Canfield, her sister Donna Nellis and her husband Dennis of Niles, ten grandchildren Jonny Elliot, Ainsley Elliot, Ava Elliot, Nikalo Elliot,  Angelle Russo, Michael Elliot Jr., Alexiss Elliot (James Heiser),  Taylor DeNero (Dominic), Nicholas Stovall, Katie Stovall and two great grandchildren Dylan Heiser and Brynlee DeNero.
 She is preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call Friday from 5 to 7 PM at the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.

Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 AM Saturday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niles preceded by a 10:30 AM prayer service at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Niles City Cemetery.
