Joann M. Barbati

Joann M. Barbati, 84, of Niles, passed away at 11:15AM Sunday June 28, 2020 at Continuing Health Care of Niles.

She was born March 12, 1936 in Niles the daughter of Michael and Rose Ciminero Malvasia.

Joann was a 1954 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles.

Her husband Salvatore Barbati whom she married June 6, 1959 died March 14, 2019.

She will be deeply missed by two daughters, Rose Barbati of Girard and Margaret Barbati Brenner of Orlando, Florida, five grandchildren, Maria Leedy, Gena Leedy, Christine Edwards, William Brenner II, and Christopher Leedy, and seven great-grandchildren, Emilia Rose, Milo Christopher, Luca Patrick, Anastasia, Nate, Tiffini, and Megan.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael Malvasia and Joseph Malvasia.

Due to the current health crisis funeral services will be private.

Material remembrances can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
