John W. Heston, 84, of Niles, passed away on Tuesday August 30, 2022 at Shepherd of The Valley Liberty.
He was born July 13, 1938 in Amesville, Ohio the son of William and Carol Hope Heston.
John was a 1956 graduate of Vienna High School and a 1961 graduate of Youngstown State University with a bachelors degree in business administration.
He was employed for 28 years at General Motors Lordstown in the auditing department retiring in 1994 and also at Walmart in Warren for 25 years in the paint and hardware department and also was a greeter.
John was a member of Niles First Christian Church where he served as an elder and choir member, 4H in Vienna where he was Best Beef Cow Winner, volunteer at Youngstown V.A. and St. Joseph’s Mercy Hospital, and enjoyed watching game shows.
He will be deeply missed by his wife Patricia Walters Heston whom he married May 6, 1961, two sons Jeffrey Heston and his wife Mary Ann of Howland and David Heston and his wife Erin of Broadview Heights, Ohio, a daughter Cathy Ann Drewnoski and her husband Mark of Leetonia, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother Dorothy Heston, and step-sister Pam Acitelli.
Friends may call from 10AM up until the time of the noon funeral service Saturday at the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles with Rev. Christopher Stark officiating.
Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
