John R. Stevens, 82, of Niles, passed away on Thursday June 8, 2023 at Hospice of The Valley Hospice House in Poland.
He was born May 18, 1941 in Youngstown the son of Edwin M. and Agnes Knight Stevens.
He was employed as a military police officer for 20 years and went on to Packard Electric until retirement in 2007.
John enjoyed golfing, watching his grandchildren play sports, and was a United States Army veteran of The Vietnam War.
He will be deeply missed by his wife Inge Stevens whom he married September 22, 1962, a daughter Janette (John) Carson of Centerville, Ohio, two sons, Robert Stevens of Howland and John (Denise) Stevens of Niles, daughter-in-law Gloria Martinez of Denver Colorado, a brother Kenneth Stevens of Howland, sister-in-law Shirley Stevens of Girard, six grandchildren, Anthony (Danielle) Carson, Sofia, Cole, Jake, Gabby, and Jenna, three step-grandchildren, Leo, Candace and Christopher and three great-grandchildren, Ayda, Kit and Gabriel. He was preceded in death by a son Sean Stevens, three brothers, Jim Stevens, Ted Stevens, and Ron Stevens, and three sisters, Rosemary Geho, Patricia Geho, and Joan Funaro.
Friends may call on Tuesday June 13 th from 5-7pm with funeral services following at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles where John will be honored for his military service.
