John W. Vlosich, 87, of Niles, passed away on Saturday November 11, 2023 at Hospice of The Valley Hospice House in Poland.
He was born November 9, 1936 in Struthers, Ohio the son of John and Julia Evanovich Vlosich.
John was a 1954 graduate of Struthers High School and one of his greatest accomplishments in life was being inducted into the Gridiron Hall of Fame at Struthers. He was also a 1961 graduate of Youngstown State University with a bachelor degree in Accounting and Buisness.
He was employed at General Motors Lordstown for 28 years retiring in 1993 and also as a Fairhaven School bus driver for six years.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish in Niles, where he loved going to Mass to listen to his beautiful bride sing. John enjoyed walking, riding his bicycle, and spending time with his grandchildren.
His wife Eleanor J. Quaranta Vlosich whom he married October 13, 1962 died December 24, 2004 and was the love of his life.
He will be deeply missed by two sons John Vlosich and his wife Tracy of Vienna, David Vlosich and his wife Christina of Girard, three daughters, Lori Hudzik and her husband Mike of Howland, Amy Vlosich of Niles, Shari Vlosich and her husband Doug Mucroski of Howland, two brother-in-laws Edward Marsh and Steve Styranec, seven grandchildren, Caelee, Dominique, Haven, David, Geno, Gianna, Ella, and three great-grandchildren, Charli, Cypress, Cora.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lillian Marsh and Marsha Styranec.
Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 7PM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles where The Mt. Carmel Bereavement will conduct prayers at 6:30PM.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Friday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niles with Fr. Steven Agostino officiating, preceded by a 9:30AM prayer service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
