Lonia E Young

Lonia Ellen Young, 85, of Masury, Ohio, passed away on October 28, 2023. She was born on July 21, 1938, in White Sulphur Springs, WV. Lonia was a beloved sister, mother, daughter-in-law, and sister-in-law.

Lonia is survived by her sister, Elvie Zell, and her children, David (Deke) Young and Diana Young. She was a loving mother-in-law to Victoria Dufresne and Richard Strong. Lonia was preceded in death by her mother, Cassie Zell (Lewis), and her son, Michael W. Young.

Lonia had a fulfilling career, working as an LPN at Parma General Hospital. She was also a licensed hairdresser and a certified caregiver for children and seniors. Her dedication and compassion touched the lives of many.

Lonia had an insatiable love for reading and frequently visited the library, often leaving with her arms full of books. She had a deep appreciation for fine art and would make time to visit the Cleveland Museum of Art and Severance Hall. Lonia's passion for western movies began at a young age when she would accompany her uncles to the movie theater, usually for a double feature. Additionally, she had a talent for cooking and loved experimenting with new recipes.

A private burial service will be held at Niles Union Cemetery in Niles, Ohio. The funeral home assisting with the arrangements is Joseph Rossi & Sons Funeral Home, located in Niles, Ohio.
Lonia Ellen Young will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her kindness, warmth, and zest for life will always be remembered. May she rest in peace.
