Marilyn Jean (Parry) McKelvey Stephenson, 84, of Liberty Township, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 5, at 11:15 a.m., at home with her loving family.
She was born August 21, 1936, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Howard J. and Martha J. Shelar Parry.
She graduated from Niles McKinley High School in 1954. She worked as a bank teller at Union Savings & Trust and Bank Ohio. She loved boating and eventually followed her life dream and moved to Marblehead, Ohio, and spent years on the lake. She drove a trolley and retired from Danbury Local Schools as a bus driver. What made her proudest in life were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memory her two children Marcia (Daniel) McGrew of Liberty and Joseph McKelvey of Liberty, with whom she shared her home and final days. She also leaves a daughter-in-law, Melanie McKelvey of Fremont. She had 9 grandchildren: Scott McGrew, Kristy Howell, Kelly Healy, Megan Tolley, Nora Dejane, Melanie Eash, Jason McKelvey, Hannah Chudzinski, and Shane McKelvey, 13 great-grandchildren, and 4 beloved nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved son, John McKelvey, both husbands, Jack McKelvey and William Stephenson, and her brother Jim Parry.
An outdoor memorial service will be held Thursday, September 10 at 11:00 am. at New Life Lutheran Church, 1181 Churchill-Hubbard Road, Youngstown, OH 44505. Please follow all current social distancing guidelines and health protocols when paying respects to the family. Masks or face coverings are required at the service.
Memorial contributions may be made in Marilyn's memory to Dementia Society of America or New Life Lutheran.
