Martin T. Kelly

Martin T. Kelly Sr., 73, of Niles, passed away on Saturday May 22, 2021 at Mercy Health St. Joseph’s Warren Hospital.
He was born July 20, 1947 in Youngstown the son of Richard E. and Theresa “T.C.” Finnerty Kelly.
Martin was a 1965 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School where he played football and a graduate of Youngstown State University with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science.
He was employed at Ohio Edison, as assistant superintendant of the light department for The City of Niles for 19 years, and owned and operated Electro Power Management for 12 years. 
He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Youngstown, enjoyed golfing, the ocean, and avid New York Yankees fan.
Martin was a United States Navy Reserve veteran of The Vietnam War and a member of the Atlantic recovery team for the Apollo 11 and 13 missions.
He will be deeply missed by his wife Mary Rounds Kelly whom he married October 2, 2020, a son Martin T. Kelly Jr. and his wife Mary of Mesa, Arizona, two daughters, Meghan Kelly of Phoenix, Arizona, and Maureen Kats and her husband Mark of Scottsdale, Arizona, and three grandchildren, Seamus, Michael, and Quinlan.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Marty’s services will begin at 3PM Thursday with The Trumbull County American Legion honor guard. Calling hours will follow leading into the 5PM funeral services at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
Social distancing and facial coverings are mandatory for all calling hours and services.
