Mary A. Casamento

Mary A. Casamento, 90, of Niles passed away at 2:50PM Sunday November 28, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born February 24, 1931 in Niles the daughter of Charles and Katherine Matuszwski Gireak.
Mary was a 1949 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and a lifelong resident of Niles. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Stephen Church.
She was a women of great faith. She loved the Lord, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mary dedicated her whole life to raising and caring for them. That was her greatest joy. She was a mother who had the biggest heart in all the world, and had a beauty of character and smile that endeared her to everyone who met her.
In her lifetime, she was a homemaker, an excellent cook, and baker. She enjoyed reading religious books, the Bible her favorite. She loved shopping, bird watching, butterflies, and spaghetti. 
Mary will be deeply missed by her son Samuel Casamento of Niles, a daughter Catherine D’Annunzio and her husband Danny of Howland, a granddaughter Marcy Summers and her husband George, a grandson, Danny D’Annunzio Jr. and his wife Julie, her great-grandchildren, Natalie, Alexa, Danny III, Dominic, her family by affection Cecilia Visocan, and a goddaughter Marianne Butto whom she adored.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband the late Joseph Casamento whom she married June 7, 1952 and passed away June 8, 1961, and a brother Michael Gurak.
Our family would like to express special thanks and gratitude to Shepherd of The Valley and Hospice of The Valley Nurses, aids, and volunteers for their care and compassion given to Mary over the past several months.
Friends may call Wednesday from 9:00AM to 10:30AM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00AM at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Niles preceded by a 10:30AM prayer service at the funeral home.
Facial coverings are mandatory for all family and friends coming to pay their respects at the funeral and at church.
Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests material contributions be made in Mary’s name to The Alzheimer’s Association, 23215 Commerce Park, Suite 300, Beachwood, Ohio 44122 or Hospice of The Valley, 5190 Market Street, Youngstown, Ohio 44512.
Arrangements are being handled by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
