Mary E. Maffei

Mary E. “Mimi” Maffei, 92, of Niles, passed away on Thursday June 2, 2022 at her residence.
She was born January 12, 1930 in Warren the daughter of Guiseppe and Maria Cipriani Chinelli.
Mimi was a 1947 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, employed for 9 years at Valley Plumbing and Heating as a secretary and a cook for Niles City Schools and Mollica’s Banquet Center for 14 years.
She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles, church festival and Red Cross volunteer.
She enjoyed reading, cooking, spending time with family and friends.
Her husband Michael Maffei whom she married June 6, 1953 died May 26, 2006.
She will be sadly missed by a son John Michael Maffei and his wife Sharen of Warren, two daughters, Maribeth Flaviano and her husband Joseph of Niles,and Michelle Maffei Samsal and her husband Scott Samsal of Gilbert, Arizona, a granddaughter Rena Maffei of Strasburg, Virginia, and a great-grandson Angel Corona.
She was preceded in death by a brother John Chinelli, and four sisters, Bessie LaBuda, Nancy Vallone, Grace Vivolo, and Jo Bianco.
Friends may call Monday from 9:00AM to 10:30AM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11AM Monday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles preceded by a 10:30AM prayer service at the funeral Home.
Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
