Nicholas Masciangelo

Nicholas Masciangelo, age 83, of Niles, OH passed away peacefully on Saturday December 31, 2022 surrounded by his family at Hospice of the Valley following complications of Covid-19.
Nick was born in Warren, OH on December 6, 1939 to the late Patrick and Yolanda (Veri) Masciangelo. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Father Richard Masciangelo and Ronald Masciangelo, as well as his sister Diane (Masciangelo) Wilson.
Nick was a 1958 graduate of Niles McKinley High School. He served in the United States Air Force prior to beginning his career at General Motors in 1966, retiring in 1994. He was an active parishioner at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Niles.
Nick was happiest when spending time with his family. He enjoyed cheering on the Niles Red Dragons, Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and Indians. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 235 of Girard.

Nick is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Lillian (Bianco) Masciangelo, whom he married on December 30, 1961; son Tom (Diane) Masciangelo of Columbus, OH; daughter Lori (Rich) Martin of McDonald, OH; grandson Patrick (Katie) Masciangelo  of Chicago, IL; granddaughter Carolyn (Vincent) Lombardo of Upper Arlington, OH; great-granddaughter Izzy Masciangelo and great-grandson Enzo Lombardo. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends. 
Friends may call from 5 to 7 PM on Thursday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles. Service of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Friday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles preceded by a 10:30 AM prayer service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Pineview Cemetery where Nick will be honored for his military service by The Girard Veterans Council Honor Guard. 
Nick’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the extraordinary care team at Hospice of the Valley in Poland, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Hospice of the Valley.
