Ona J. Naples

Ona J. Naples, 94, of Youngstown, passed away on Wednesday May 17, 2023 at her residence.
She was born September 26, 1928 in Struthers the daughter of Richard and Carrie (Hurd) Davies.
Ona was a 1946 graduate of Chalker High School in Southington. She was employed as a server at Fiore’s El Rio for almost 20 years retiring in 1990. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Youngstown and a former member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish in Niles.  
After having children, Ona dedicated her life to being a loving mother. When Ona wasn’t filling the home with the aroma of her delicious baked goods she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening, and was an avid reader. She also loved traveling the continental United States ,  Alaska,  Hawaii, Canada, and to her parents roots in England and Wales.
Sunset was Ona’s favorite time of day with all the beautiful colors. She is now in peace and we will lovingly remember her with every sunset.
Her husband Ernest A. Naples Sr. whom she married April 9, 1950 died May 29, 1995.
She will be deeply missed by two her sons Ernest A. Naples Jr. and wife Diane of Columbus, James Naples of New Port Richey, Florida, four daughters, Joyce Shopinsky of Youngstown, Ona Marie Lewis and husband Charles of Norwalk, Carolyn Naples-Gintert and husband Marty of Rotunda West, Florida, and Barbara Van Dyke and husband Timothy of Butler, Pennsylvania 19 grandchildren, and 38 great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by a grandchild, Isabella Grabe, four brothers, Fred Davies, Sam Davies, Daniel Davies, and Gerald Davies, and two sisters, Edna Young and Mildred Danley.
Friends may call Tuesday, May 23rd from 5 to 7pm at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles and from 10 to 11am Wednesday, May 24th at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Youngstown.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am Wednesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Youngstown with Fr. Kevin Peters officiating. 
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
Arrangements are being handled by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
