Ralph J. Gatta, 89, of Warren, passed away on Sunday September 13, 2020 at Shepherd of The Valley in Liberty.
He was born November 19, 1930 in Niles the son of Donato and Grace Villecco Gatta.
Ralph was a 1949 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, and employed in sales at The May Company for 18 years retiring in 1993.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, member of The Paul Villecco Trio, Packard Band, Mike Sudano Band, and enjoyed music, hunting, and listening to Frank Sinatra.
He was a United States Air Force Veteran where he also played as a musician.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Marlene Bowkowski Gatta whom he married May 1, 1981 two daughters Susan Shaw and her husband Michael of Naples, Florida, and April Kirkwood of Poland ,a step-daughter Alisa Modrynski and her husband Larry of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, a brother, Dan Gatta of Niles, two sisters, Rose Cikusa of Niles and Annette Common of Alliance, four grandchildren, Emily and Ally Bordner of Naples, Florida, Dana Nystrom and her husband Curtis of Bronx, New York, and Grant Kirkwood of Newton Falls, two step-grandsons Scott Enlow of Memphis, Tennessee and Trent Hobbs of Fremont, Califronia, four great-grandchildren, Peyton, Emma Rose, Skylar, and Piper, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother James J. Gatta and a sister Norma Edmonds.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11AM Wednesday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Niles where social distancing and facial coverings are mandatory.
