Raymond Donadio Sr. Obituary

Raymond M. Donadio Sr., 90, of Niles peacefully entered God’s eternal rest on Tuesday September 10, 2019 at Hospice of The Valley Hospice House in Poland.

Throughout an extended illness, Ray made clear his desire to fight through to remain connected to his 12 great-grandchildren, 18 grandchildren, 6 children, and his wife Judy of 64 years.

He was born November 18, 1928 in Niles the son of Pasquale and Rosina Cucaro Donadio.

Raymond was a 1946 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, employed as a delivery and sales man for The Warren Sanitary Milk Company for 26 years and also at D’Urso Bakery for 18 years retiring in 1996.

Ray was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, church alter boy and male choir. He was also a member and past commander of American Legion Post 106 in Niles, San Fellipe Neri Lodge in Niles, Niles McKinley Band Boosters, and several bowling and golfing leagues. He took great pride as caretaker of Niles Historical Society’s Ward Thomas House and also hosting foreign exchange students through The American Field Service.

Ray deeply loved his family including a large extended family he would see at annual reunions over the last 37 years. A life long resident of Niles, he and Judy traveled the country to see family and spend winters in Florida. Yet, if ever there was a man who followed the credo” There’s No Place Like Home”, it was Ray Donadio. He loved all things Niles.

Ray also served his country for three years in The United States Coast Guard and for five years in The United States Navy having served eighteen months in Korea aboard the U.S.S. Pollux.

Memories of Ray will be carried on by his wife Judith Fagnano Donadio whom he married January 8, 1955, four sons Raymond M. Donadio Jr., and his wife Deb of Port Orange, Florida, James Donadio and his wife Karen of Warren, Tom Donadio and his wife Anita of Champion, and Christopher Donadio and his wife Kelly of Wesley Chapel, North Carolina, two daughters Judi Saulino and her husband Dom of Marietta, Georgia and Lisa Donadio of Branson, Missouri, two sisters Lillian D’Allessandro of Niles and Carmel DeChristofaro and her husband Robert of Niles, 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter Lindsay Rose Donadio, and five brothers.
