Sara J. “Sally” Roberts, 79, of Niles passed away on Tuesday September 28, 2021 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born June 7, 1942 in Warren the daughter of Paul J. and Elizabeth Hubbard Hogan.
She was a 1960 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and attended Warren Business College.
Sally was employed as a secretary at RMI in Niles for five years. She retired in 2000 from the Niles City Schools after serving 25 years as the secretary to the Business Manager at the Board of Education.
Sally was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish in Niles. She enjoyed playing cards with friends, traveling, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She and her husband enjoyed living in Naples, Florida for 12 years; spending summers in Niles with her family.
Sally will be sadly missed by her husband Nicholas Roberts whom she married November 13, 1965. She also leaves two sons Nick Roberts and his wife Suzie of Howland, Tom Roberts of Niles, two daughters, Marijane Parry and her husband Tim of Niles and Susan Hess of Niles. She will also be missed by two brothers, Paul Hogan and his wife Sandy of Niles, and Daniel Hogan and his wife Gail of Columbus, two sisters, Patricia Lobaugh of Morehead City, North Carolina and Ruthie Stabile of Niles. Sally leaves twelve grandchildren, Patrick Fortune and his wife Angelica, Sara Parry and her fiancé Christopher Marsco, Christopher Parry, Elizabeth Huff and her husband Keith, Emily Hess, Ethan Hess, Hannah Roberts, Abigail Roberts, Jacquelyn Roberts, Jason Roberts, Dominic Roberts, and Isabella Roberts, one great-grandson Lincoln Roberts and another due in December, Patrick Anthony Fortune.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Charles “Chuck” Hogan.
Friends may call Sunday from 12 to 2PM and Monday from 9 to 9:30AM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00AM Monday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles preceded by a 9:30AM prayer service at the funeral home.
Facial coverings are recommended for all family and friends coming to pay their respects at the funeral home and at the church.
Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
