Frank C. Bernard

Frank C. Bernard, 74 of Niles, died at 5:38AM Monday September 29, 2014 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital after a courageous four year battle with COPD and Cancer.

He was born February 6, 1940 in Warren the son of Patsy and Connie Pellino Bernard.

He was a 1958 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, and employed for 42 years at LTV Republic Steel as a computer tech retiring in 1993.

He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, VFW in Niles, enjoyed walking the mall, spending time with friends, traveling, holding his pilots license and was a United States Army Veteran.

Frank, who was very sociable, will be deeply missed by his brother Nick Bernard and his wife Kathleen of Niles, his nieces, Patty Smith and her husband Jeff, Polly Milijons, who was also his caregiver, and his nephews, Nick A. Bernard Jr. and Jason Bernard, and several great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 5 to 7PM Wednesday and 9:30 to 10AM Thursday at the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles. The Mount Carmel Bereavement Ministry will conduct prayers at 6:30PM Wednesday.

Services of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM Thursday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.

Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery where Frank will be honored for his military service by The Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard.

Arrangements are being handled by The Joseph Rossi and Son Funeral Home in Niles.
