Frank J. Dublikar Jr., 93, of Louisville, Ohio, formerly of Niles, died Saturday April 15, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, Ohio.

He was born November 29, 1923 in Youngstown the son of Frank and Yera Gregorin Dublikar Sr.

Frank was a 1943 graduate of Youngstown Chaney High School. Due to his immediate enlistment in the Navy, he was unable to attend the graduation ceremony, so his mother graciously received his diploma on his behalf. After his military service he was   employed as a die setter and foreman at Youngstown Steel Door for 37 years retiring in 1983.  He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, Slovene National Benefit Society(SNPJ) , Bagnoli Irpino Club, and The Niles Knights of Columbus Council #1681. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, music, and spending time with his family especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Frank served his country from 1943-1946 as a Gunner’s Mate Third Class aboard a PT boat in both the European and Pacific Theaters, receiving a Purple Heart and other naval honors.  

On October 30, 1948, he married Lucille Guacci.  They were married for 57 years prior to her death on April 25, 2006.

He will be deeply missed by two sons, Attorney Ralph Dublikar and his wife Nancy of Canton, James Dublikar and his wife Teresa of Aurora, Colorado, a daughter Patricia Meyer and her husband Ted of Cincinnati, Ohio.  He also leaves eleven grandchildren, Attorney Justin Dublikar and his wife Danielle, Randall Dublikar and his wife Jessica , Ellen Kenst and her husband Gary, Eric Dublikar and his wife Angela, Alexa Dublikar, Andrew Dublikar, Dominic Dublikar and his wife Lauri, Joseph Meyer, Maria Meyer, Anna Meyer, and Franklin Meyer, thirteen great-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law Connie Vulanich of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Dublikar and Peter Dublikar, and a sister Mary Mehle.

Friends may call Wednesday from 8:30AM to 9:30AM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Wednesday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Niles preceded by a 9:30AM prayer service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery where Frank will be honored for his military service by The Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard.

Arrangements are being handled by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
