Michael Joseph D’Allessandro, 92, of Niles died on Friday December 8, 2017 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren.
He was born May 7, 1925 in Niles the son of Andrew and Maria Mellidoro D’Allessandro.
He was a 1944 graduate of Niles McKinley High School. He then joined the Navy and served in World War II in the invasion of Normandy and in the Pacific on board a destroyer for 21 months. He was honorably discharged in 1945.
He was employed as a salesman at Sears for 24 years and retired in 1992, having previously worked as an insurance agent for National Life Insurance Company.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Parish in Niles, The Italian War Vets and the San Felippo Neri Lodge. He enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time with his beloved family especially his granddaughters and great-grandchildren.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Mary Lillian Donadio D’Allessandro whom he married June 18, 1955, a son Michael D’Allessandro and his wife Sharon of Niles, a daughter Mary Ann Skovran and her husband Dennis of Niles , a daughter-in-law Lynda D’Allessandro of Niles ,a sister Theresa Ognibene of Niles, three grandchildren, Jennifer D’Allessandro(Gino Pagano), Michelle D’Allessandro-Livi (Donald) and Mia D’Allessandro, and two great-grandchildren Allessia Pagano and Dante Livi, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a son Andrew D’Allessandro, a brother Andrew D’Allessandro, and a sister Eleanor D’Allessandro.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11AM Tuesday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Niles.
Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
