Neil N Guliano

Neil N. Guliano, 90, passed away on Thursday February 5, 2015 at 8:06 a.m.  He was born on December 2, 1924 the son of Pasquale and Maria Chieffo Guliano in Niles, Ohio.  He graduated in 1942 from Niles McKinley High School and attended Youngstown College.  On May 10, 1947 he married his beloved wife, Mary Jane Lateana.  Neil was employed at the Niles Men’s Shop and at the City of Niles Water and Light Department, retiring in 1987.  He was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles, Ohio serving in a variety of ministries including lector, usher, and Eucharistic minister, the Catholic Men’s Club and the Men’s Choir. He was also a member of St. Rose Church in Girard, Ohio where he was a part of the faith community for the past two years.
He served as Treasurer to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, was founder, co-chair and committee member of the Niles Interfaith Initiatives, Charter Member of The Niles Knights of Columbus Council #1681 and  Monsignor Francis J. Lavery Fourth Degree charter member  He served his community as a member of the Niles Board of Health, and the Niles Chapter of the American Red Cross.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane, son Patrick Guliano, daughter, Mary (Clayton) Cosimi, daughter Dr. Alexandra Guliano, son Neil (Jody) Guliano, son Rev. John (Lisa) Guliano, and son James and his beloved godson Attorney Robert Walker, with whom he made his home.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Gregory (Deanna) Cosimi, Daniel Cosimi, Michael Guliano, Megan Guliano, Neil Guliano, James W. Guliano, Robert Guliano, and Marietta Guliano and  sister, Lucy Sherock and sister-in-law Lillian Alexander. He also is survived by his niece Cathy (Paul) Nuzzi and his nephew Dr. Francis (Joan) Alexander.  He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, infant grandson, Patrick Jr, and two brother-in-laws, John Sherock and Saker Alexander.

Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 6PM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles and from 11AM to 12PM Monday at St. Rose Catholic Church in Girard. The Niles Knights of Columbus Council 1681 will conduct prayers at 4:45PM Sunday at The funeral home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12PM Monday at St. Rose Catholic Church in Girard.

Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
