Carol J. Batson, 78 of Niles, died at 11PM Saturday October 8, 2016 at Autumn Hill Care Center in Niles.
She was born November 4, 1937 in Warren the daughter of Jack and Bernice Davis Barber.
Carol was a 1955 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, a 1959 graduate of Kent State University with a bachelors Degree in Education, and taught for 30 years in The Niles City School District at Bonham, Jefferson, and Washington Elementary Schools. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Niles, Job’s Daughter’s, NEOTA, Niles Historical Society, enjoyed reading, gardening, and a History buff.
Her husband Robert C. Batson whom she married March 21, 1959 died February 13, 2002.
She will be deeply missed by four sons, Robert T. Batson and his wife Ruth of Huber Heights, Ohio, David T. Batson of Niles, Brian K. Batson and his wife Marsha of Niles, and Scott B. Batson of Girard, a brother Tom Barber and his wife Karen of Euclid, six grandchildren, Jessica Riopell and her husband Jason, Mallory Batson, Courtney DiMario and her husband Eric, Erin Batson, Jack Batson, and Lydia Batson, and a nephew Marc Barber.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 7PM and Thursday from 10 to 11AM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
Funeral services will be held 11AM Thursday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles with Pastor Paula Marbury officiating.
Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
