Dominic C. “Ducky” Feorene, 82, of Niles died Tuesday July 5, 2016 at his residence.
He was born October 18, 1933 in Niles the son of Vincent and Anna Bottiglieri Feorene
He was a 1951 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, a graduate of The Dana School of Music at Youngstown College and Vandercook School of Music in Chicago, Illinios. He served as band director at a number of public school districts in Ohio and among his greatest accomplishments were his students who will carry on his passion for music.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, a life long musician performing in a number of bands and orchestras that included The W.D. Packard Band, The Top Notes, and The Navy’s Admiral Band. He also enjoyed square dancing, woodworking, camping, performing, and was a United States Naval Veteran of The Korean Conflict having served on The USS Wasp Aircraft Carrier.
His wife Betty J. Williams Feorene whom he married February 16, 1957 died June 19, 2012.
He will be deeply missed by a son Vincent Feorene of Niles, a daughter Donna Zielinski of Port Clinton, Ohio, a brother Richard Feorene and his wife Nancy of Austintown, a sister Lucy Leonard and her husband Tom of Niles, three grandchildren, Kelly Gates Quarles and her husband Brandon, Michele Feorene, and Claire Zielinski, and a great-granddaughter Mya Robertson.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 7PM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles where The Mt. Carmel Bereavement Ministry will conduct prayers at 6:30PM.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Friday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Niles preceded by a 9:30AM prayer service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery where Dominic will be honored for his military service by The Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard.
