William E. Ifft Sr., 86, of Niles died Wednesday May 27, 2015 at Washington Square Health Care Center in Warren.
He was born October 11, 1928 in Niles the son of Sam and Evelyn Ifft.
Bill was employed at Allied Metals in Niles for 40 years and also in the family business at Avon Oaks Ballroom in Girard
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Niles, Niles Moose and Eagles, enjoyed playing softball, an avid sports fan, watching M.A.S.H. and Bonanza, and a United States Army Veteran during The Korean War.
His wife Joan Leith Ifft whom he married January 6, 1954 died October 18, 2013.
He will be deeply missed by a daughter Jodie Sterchi of Niles, a son William E. Ifft Jr. and his wife Renee of McDonald, a daughter Sherida Risner and her husband Glenn of Rudolph, Ohio, a daughter Beth Harkins of Niles, a brother Joseph Ifft and his wife Dolores “Toots” of Niles, and seven grandchildren, Brian Sterchi and his wife Michelle, Ryan Ifft, Cameron Ifft, Nathan Ifft, Pati Yauger and her husband Tom, Jill Ouvllehe and her husband Steven, and Robert Harkins, twelve great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren
He was preceded in death by a grandson Adam Harkins, and a son-in-law Jack Harkins.
Friends may call Saturday from 9 to 11AM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
Funeral Services will be held 11AM Saturday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery where Bill will be honored for his military service by The Girard Veterans Council Honor Guard.
