Dear Lucy Ann,
I just now found out about your brother's passing. I am very sorry for your loss. I actually have been trying to make contact with you off and on since I moved back to town three years ago.
Please give me a call when you can. It would be nice to reconnect after all these years. 480-266-9546. It is a Phoenix exchange but Phil and I live on Bowman.
Again, I am sorry for your loss.

He inspired me in many ways, I have thought of him often since my days at HHS, and I enjoyed two occasions seeing him many years after graduation. I thought of him when I watched the movie "Mr Holland's Opus", because I knew he felt the same way about those he mentored. I admired him not just because he was a great director or a great teacher, I admired him mostly because he was a very rare kind of man who could stand in front of an entire group of young students challenging them and inspiring them to do their best yet at the same time have the compassion to cry because he cared so much about us. As a fellow Navy Veteran, my heart goes out to you shipmate...Fair Winds and Following Seas...

To Mr Feorenes family
Your dad was a real gentleman. When I think of High school my first thought is HHS Band. I have a lot of respect for him & many many band stories. I'll be praying for you. "We love you Ducky".

My deepest condolences to Mr Feorene's family. He was an awesome teacher! Being in the Hubbard band was one of the highlights of high school for me. He made us work hard and was so proud of us when we accomplished our goals! He will be truly missed! We love you Ducky!!!

Dear Ducky and Feorene Family,
Ducky was both friend and mentor to me as a rookie teacher in my first job. I treasure the times we shared in our shared office and breakfast at the Golden Griddle ( I believe that was the name). Loved being at football games, bandcamp, and parties with him. Ducky kept us laughing with his stories.
Most of all I loved the example he set for me and his students; work hard, don't settle for anything but your best, laugh at yourself, laugh at one another and laugh often. But most off all, he taught us that he cared and he taught us to care too.
He didn't like to cry, but he did, showing how humble he was when people made a fuss over him at concerts or band dinners and also how proud he was when his students made him proud.
Ducky, you were unique. Everyone should have had a Dominic Feorene in their lives. I'm glad I did. And I'm glad the rest of the faculty, students. and community did. We are far richer
for knowing you.. We'll miss you Ducky, but we'll never forget you. Now go play that heavenly horn and cut a rug with Betty. She's been waiting for you!

So very sorry for your loss. Ducky was an awesome guy and taught me so much about music. He even taught me about being responsible for your actions and how to be a better person. Will never forget him.

Dear Mr. Feorene,
Your "Heartbeat" is ongoing in us, and we strive to achieve "The Whole Ball of Wax" in our life goals. Thank you for the "Halcyon Days" spent in your band room....where you taught us not just music, but how to value what we were accomplishing by working together. Thank you so much for teaching us morals and character, and for letting us witness how you cared about everyone in the band family.
Personally, I want to thank you for being my mentor and friend through my adult life....even all the way to the southwest. I owe much of my professional music to you.
How can I ever thank you enough? You were a blessing in my life. Godspeed, Sir. Love, Blondie.

Donna and Vince, and Family ...my deepest condolences on the passing of this great man. Please know that many of us share your loss.

"We love you Ducky, oh yes we do..... Oh Ducky, we love you."

Mr. Feorene,

Thank you for being a wonderful teacher, musician, and role model to so many of us here in Hubbard. Your spirit will live on in so many of the students that played in your bands, and you have inspired many of us to be more than we ever thought we could be. As one of your former trumpet players who is now teaching in Hubbard, I promise to try to instill in my students the same self worth, confidence, and pride that you created in us. A tall order to live up to, but there it is again.... your inspiration to others. I will always remember you, and keep your memory alive in all of my "band kids". RIP Sir.

Heartfelt condolences to the family of Mr. Feorene "Ducky" . He was the teacher that molded my high school years the most. He saw us all through our crucial years in high school and had most influence on my life during those years. I will always be grateful for him.

I had Mr Feorene for high school band in Hubbard. As far as im concerned, it was the only reason to go to school. We were family. One very large family. We loved to play tricks on him and he would go right along with them. Wonderful, wonderful man. There is not a word that can adequately describe how much his mentorship in high school meant to many, many students.

We have lost an outstanding individual. I worked with Ducky for many years at Hubbard. He was one of the finest educators that I have known. The students loved him, as did the entire community. Many, many, of the current music educators in both Mahoning and Trumbull county can trace their beginnings and interest in music to this man. Personally, I have lost a good friend. I truly admired him. My condolences to his fine family.

Dom was my first trumpet teacher. I owe him so much. He was also a mentor to me, often coming out to critique my band before contest. Later in life I had the opportunity to judge OMEA band contest with him, and again, he was a wealth of knowledge. It was an honor to stand next to him in The Top Notes trumpet section for nearly 40 years. More than all this Dom was a true friend. I'll miss you Ducky.

At his last gig on July 4th with the Top Notes, Dom was leaving. He had parked by the school and was driving down the sidewalk where my wife was walking in front of him. He yelled out the window " He move out of the way you're going to dent my car". Loved his sense of humor!

Dear Donna and Families,
Our heart felt sympathies to you and your families extended from our home across the street to yours. Who will ask me for my "union card" when I'm working in the yard now? Even though he was always on the go, remember the last activity was watching fireworks from the garage, then eternal sleep. He is making music and dancing with your mom now in the best music room ever created.
Memory Eternal,
Mary Kay and Jimmy Shader, "Armani", too!

Mr. Feorene was an amazing band director and a very caring man who was also a gentleman. He made us into great musicians and took such pride in our accomplishments. I always looked for him at the Canfield fair after seeing him play and dance there. He will be missed.

Please accept my condolences on the loss of Mr Feorene-he was a wonderful, kind man, and an enthusiastic, patient teacher. He was my daughter Sara's first private-lesson trumpet teacher. He gave her a solid foundation from which she went on to study with YSU professors while in HS, graduate from Dana School of Music, travel with The Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corp, and become the head band director at both Columbiana HS and Niles McKinley HS. This year, she will further her career as a music educator as the Assistant Director of Sam Rayburn HS Band just outside Houston, TX. Mr. Feorene's love of music will be certainly be carried on in the lives and hearts of his students!

This man touched so many young lives in a positive manner. I have watched him mold kids that were struggling into a young person who was respectful and confident. I have said many times that he just didn't know what he did for so many of us, myself included. He was a true mentor and will be missed sorely. God bless all of his family. Your loss is extreme. RIP Mr. Feorene.
