"On Eagle's Wings"! God speed James M. Coates, Sr., as you enter eternal life with Our Lord and Savior. May he bless you for all the contributions you made in life, to our school, to our football program with the participation of your children and grandchildren as students and athletes. You were there at games, in the rain or in the cold when others stayed home. You were a true "Eagle" and yes, "Blue Pride" ran in your blood. God bless you and your family. Rest in Peace as you enjoy your eternal reward.

Our deepest sympathy to the Coates family on the passing of your father, Jim, Sr.
Jim was our 2001 Man of the Year. He also was a founding member and officer of The Mahoning Valley Chapter of the National Italian-American Sports Hall of Fame which was founded in Niles, Ohio in 1986 by Ray Travaglini, and his partner Sandy Petruso; friends Edward J. DeBartolo, Sr., Henry DiBlasio, Chief John A. Ross, Louis D. Tauro, Frank D. DeJute, Frank Salerno, Dan Titi and Joseph Rossi. Because of his vision and involvement, he along with his colleagues established a Scholarship fundraising organization that is celebrating its 30th birthday this year and has exceeded over $150,000 in college scholarship awards. We thank God for Jim Coates, Sr., and pray that he receives his heavenly eternal reward for his hard work here on earth. God bless his soul.
