Bryan N. Maschgan, 67, of Niles went home to be with his lord at 5:30PM Thursday October 16, 2014 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren surrounded by his family.
He was born January 17, 1947 in Sharon, Pennsylvania the son of Nicholas and Anne Cicen Maschgan.
Bryan was a 1964 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, a 1999 graduate of Hiram University with a bachelors of Communication Degree, a 2005 graduate of Case Western Reserve University with a Masters Degree in Developemental Organizational Analysis, and attended Kent State University where he was a member of ROTC.
He was employed as a Statistical Engineer for 38 years at General Motors Lordstown retiring in 2005 and was a project management professor at Hiram University after his retirement.
He was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Girard, founding member of The Catholic Men’s Fellowship, The Girard Knights of Columbus, enjoyed gardening, spending time with his grandchildren, golfing, civil war enthusiast, and collected Bald Eagle memorabilia.
God and family was his life. His backyard was his special spot with a garden, pond, and most of all his blessed statues. He loved teaching his students and grandchildren. His passion was his two girls, Princess and Kitten and his babydolls, Cassie and Caydence. He was always there for his boys too. Papa Bear was awesome, cool, a giver and so caring. He will be deeply missed by his wife LouEllen Soltesz Maschgan whom he married May 5, 1968, two daughters, Shelley Myers and her husband Adam of Niles and Christina Golias and her fiancée Charles Cole of Niles, a brother Bradley Maschgan of Parma,Ohio, five grandchildren, Corey Myers, Cassie Myers, Jonathan Golias, Brandon Golias, and Caydence Golias, his nieces Kelly and Kym, and his Shihtzus dogs, Oreo and Zoey.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call from 5 to 6PM Tuesday at St. Rose Catholic Church in Girard.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 6PM Tuesday at St. Rose Catholic Church in Girard with Msgr. John Zuraw officiating.
